What do you get when you mix music, fashion, and film? One helluva party, that’s what!
Over 35 local creatives have come together to create Karaoke Party, a series of short films which feature fashion by homegrown designers and original tracks by local musicians. Presented in a classic karaoke format, the films will be screened as an interactive video installation at Keepers: Singapore Designer Collective from 16 to 25 January.
The project is the brainchild of local photographer Lenne Chai (who also served as director on the three short films), and co-produced by Singapore-born, Australia-raised filmmaker Ling Ang. The aim of Karaoke Party is to showcase local talents, which include fashion labels such as In Good Company, Carrie K., PAULINE.NING, By Invite Only, and musicians Gentle Bones, Stopgap, Vanessa Fernandez, and Masia One.
Sweet threads and rockin’ music you can actually sing along to? Now that sounds like a good time. Count us in.
