An eye for an eye

At least 80% of our island’s people are myopic, but we’ve defo got a lot more foresight when it comes to compassion.

You already know the Great Singapore Sale, now meet Give Someone Specs. This consumer and charity event will help us to see things in a different (and better) light.

Shockingly, 10,000 needy people require corrective vision every year. For the underprivileged, proper eye care and the right pair of prescription glasses are probably low on the priority list. With a goal to help 1,200 beneficiaries in 12 weeks, The Lens Men and Hoya Lens are set to bring down that number with their unique campaign. You got it – it’s none other than GSS!

The guys at The Lens men and Hoya Lens have come together to provide primary eye care for the needy in Singapore. Better yet, this drive will be completely powered by the muscles of consumerism.

Wondering how it works? For every $250 spent at Hoya, an underprivileged person will receive a pair of prescription glasses (worth $160) and comes with anti-reflective and multi-coated Hoya lenses. This is quite literally an eye for an eye!

“Give Someone Specs” will be held from 24 May to 11 August at all The Lens Men and The Eye Site stores. For more information, see websites.
